About Dr. Schecter
A native of Long Island, New York, Dr. Schecter received his undergraduate degree in biology and psychology from the State University of New York at Oswego.

Dr. Schecter joined the West Islip Orthodontics family in 2014. He received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from New York University College of Dentistry. Following a general practice residency at New York University, Dr. Schecter participated in a two-year orthognathic surgical fellowship at Lenox Hill Hospital in Manhattan where he was published for assisting with the creation of cutting-edge treatment techniques for children with craniofacial deformities. Dr. Schecter then went on to earn his postgraduate degree in orthodontics from Stony Brook University and has since had the distinguished honor of becoming board certified with the American Board of Orthodontics.
When not creating beautiful smiles, Dr. Schecter loves spending time with his two daughters Mia and Ava, as well as playing music from Beethoven to Billy Joel on the piano and writing feature screenplays.
